- Does this calculator collect my data?
- No. There is no form, no email gate and no submission. Every number is computed in your browser and nothing is sent anywhere.
- Where does the metered rate come from?
- Your own two numbers. The calculator divides what you pay today by the volume you ingest today, and holds that rate flat while volume grows. WitFoo does not publish anyone else's rates — a competitor's price is their contract to describe, and it is stale the moment they change it — so the only rate here is the one implied by your current invoice.
- How many appliances will I need?
- That depends on architecture as much as volume — how many sites and network segments you collect from, whether you need edge Conductors, retention targets, and whether analytics is centralised. There is no honest formula that turns a single GB/day figure into an appliance count, so the field is yours to set. Talk to us and we will size it against your actual topology.
- Are the WitFoo numbers real?
- Yes. They are read from the same published price list and the same volume-discount function that drive the pricing page, so this calculator cannot drift from it. Government, nonprofit and education discounts are not modelled here and would reduce the WitFoo figure further.
